Policies & Conduct

Cancellation Guidelines

  • Clients are permitted one cancellation each monthly billing cycle.

  • Notice periods are monitored during business hours, 8am–6pm, daily.

  • Any notifications sent after hours are processed when the office reopens.

  • Providing over 5 hours' notice regarding illness will result in a full credit for your upcoming invoice.

  • Notifications sent within 5 hours of a session incur the full fee without a makeup opportunity.

  • Once the monthly limit is exceeded, all missed sessions are charged. This rule covers illness, pool maintenance, or travel. Lessons only stop for lightning or thunder.

Weather Guidlines

Sunny days: lessons continue with sun protection.

Cloudy days: are generally suitable for swimming.

Warm rainy days: lessons usually continue.

Cold rainy days: a cancellation may be made under the general policy.

Storm conditions: especially thunder and lightning, are the most unfavourable; instructors may call or deem the lesson unsafe.

Cold pool temperatures: please refer to the cancellation policy.

Parent Guidlines & Code of Conduct

  • A parent or responsible adult over 18 must supervise the child, before, during and after the class.

  • This person must remain home and assist promptly with handover.

  • Parents should watch the lessons.

  • Children should be dressed and ready at the booked time because instructors have back-to-back classes and will stay only for the allocated time slot.

Pool Water Quality & Safety

  • As the pool owner, you are responsible for keeping pool chemicals and water quality within health regulations.

  • Heating must be on and working effectively.

  • Please regularly refer to the Royal Life Saving website for pool checks and safety. Link here: Royal Life Saving

  • Council regulations must be followed.

  • Before each class, check the pool and fenced area for hazards, ensure pool cleaners are off and out of the pool, and check for spiders, animals and other obstacles.

  • A first aid kit must be accessible near the pool.

  • No running is allowed in the pool area.

  • A pool must be 2m deep for diving lessons, which are taught only under direct supervision. If an instructor deems the pool unsuitable, the class will be cancelled and no credit or make-up will be offered.

Equipment & Conduct

  • Families are responsible for swimmers, goggles and sunscreen.

  • Instructors do not teach with flotation devices unless agreed beforehand, and do not use inflatables, waterslides or run pool parties.

  • Please keep pets away from the poolside and avoid distractions.

  • Other children must not swim during lessons.

  • Instructors are responsible only for the children booked into the class.

Instructor Consistancy

  • SWIM RECRUIT aims to keep instructors consistent.

  • If an instructor is ill or away, families will be notified as soon as possible.

  • We may reschedule or find another teacher if the children are comfortable with the change.
